If the filename path is too long or if you use a non-compatible Characters in the SharePoint then we may get this issue

The max length of a file name can’t be greater than 259 characters
Once your filename limit is reached, then it is not possible to save the file anymore

Also, you can not use the following characters anywhere in the site name, in a subsite name, or in a site

  • Tilde (~)
  • Number sign (#)
  • Percent (%)
  • Ampersand (&)
  • Asterisk (*)
  • Braces ({ })
  • Backslash (\)
  • Colon (:)
  • Angle brackets (< >)
  • Question mark (?)
  • Slash (/)
  • Plus sign (+)
