Unable to access Samba share from Windows ?

In the Linux machines, using the samba service you can share the files with other platforms but sometimes, you may be unable to access the shared folders from windows. This tutorial will show you a step-by-step procedure if you are unable to access samba share from windows.

Please follow the below steps to fix this issue

Login into your Linux system where Samba (smb) service is configured

Open Terminal from the system  and login there with the root user

Rename the Smb. conf file
To rename the smb configuration file from the command line window, please type mv /etc/samba/smb.conf /etc/samba/smb.conf-old ( Here smb.conf file is Samba configuration file)

Create a new file in the same location
touch /etc/samba/smb.conf

Now Restart the samba service once
service smb restart

After service restart, open the shared folder from the Windows Operating system now, hope you can access the shared folder now.

If still unable to access shared files from a Linux machine, please check the configuration once and make the required changes to it.
